My Antique Booth

Well, started a new adventure today.  My sister-in-law and myself have opened a Antique Booth at the Better Days Antique Mall in downtown Greenville, Tx.  Please come out and take a look around.
We have a little bit of everything.  Vintage Weeding Gowns and Clothes.  Lots of glassware and collectibles.
Here are few pics we took.  I sold a glass plate while we were putting items out.  I hope that is a very good sign for things to come.  God Bless you all and I pray God's favor over all of you.

If you have any items you would like to donate or sale please contact me at rpg1129@yahoo.com

Walmart

You know I just don't get it.  I was at Wal-mart the other day and there was a young mother there with her two children.  I was at the back of the store and she was at the front.  I could hear her kids screaming at the top of their voice.  She wasn't saying anything to them.  Didn't try and get them quite or tell them not to scream.  This went on for the whole time I was shopping.  Well, I turned the corner and guess who was turning the corner the same time.   Yes, it was the screaming kids.  For the people who know me you can just imagine what was coming next.  She pushed her buggy past me and the kids looked at me and screamed at me.  I turned and told them to stop it now.  I gave them one of my looks (the one that can kill) and they both stopped screaming and looked at me like I had said something that they had not heard before.  The mother just looked at me and I kept looking at her and the two boys.  Needless to say she didn't say a word and the two boys kept their eye on me until she pushed the buggy around the corner.  I was just waiting for her to say something to me.  But, she didn't say a word.  Just my luck because I was ready and willing to let her have a piece of my mind.

You know, when my Mother told me to do something I new she meant it.  I was told when I get you home I going to bust your ass and I new she would not forget it when we got home.  She would go in put the groceries away and then walk into the bedroom where the belt hung on a clothes hanger, get it down and give me just what she said she was going to give me when I got home.  I wasn't abused I was taught that if I couldn't behave in the store this is what would happen and she followed through with it.  I learned quick that acting out in the store would get you a red hot behind.  So, please you young Mothers please tell you children what will happen if the miss behave and follow through with it.  The rest of us in the store will back you up and be smiling while we shop.  (And if you can't do it just ask one of us older Moms to help you out) because we can follow through.  Much love to you all.

Skunk

My poor fur-child.  A few weeks ago I was awaken by a terrible smell of skunk.  My husband had let my dog out around 4:45 on Sunday morning to do his business and I was still a sleep.  I woke up to that smell and jumped out of bed.  I ran to the living room and asked my husband where is Joey?  He said that he was in the kitchen and wanted to know why I was up so early.  I told him I smelled a skunk and it was close.  I called Joey and he came out of the kitchen.  I bent down and took a smell and oh my he smelled to high heaven from skunk.  So, at 5am I am up giving him a bath.  I never new how bad skunk smelled until that morning.  It made me so sick I thought for a few times I was going to loose it.  The skunk spray isn't just a spray it is oil based spray.  It soaks into what ever it is sprayed on.  The smell was so heavy with oil.

Now, I get up every morning and check outside before I let him out.  This morning the smell was strong so, I went outside and checked before I let him out.  Couldn't find the skunk but I know he was close.  Bought a bottle of skunk off just in case it happens again.  You know living in the country you never know what you will find out your back door.  The funny think is Joey didn't seem to care that he had been sprayed.  It didn't seem to bother him at all.  It like to have put me under.  Love to all and have a great week.

Looking Out My Back Door

Well, I was just sitting at the kitchen table and was looking out the window and I noticed the cows rushing around.  So, I got up and took a look out the back door and I watched the "Bull" come running around the corner of the house and then he headed out to the pasture and started all the cows to running. I watched for a while and I notice that he was making all the cows go the way he wanted them to go.  He would run after this one and then that one.  All the while making a huffing noise and they all seemed to know just what he wanted them to do.  They would all come together and form a circle and then some of the cows would take off in a different direction and he would run to them and make them come back to where he wanted them to be.  It was fun just to watch him operate.

Then, our two donkeys (Jinny and Jinny Girl) came up to the fence wanting me to pet them and I always feed them apples and carrots.  Their coats are all shinny and they have put on a few extra pounds.  But, all in all they are healthy and seem to be happy.  I think thats all one can ask for in life.  Don't sweat the small stuff and just keep on going.  Love to you all from Out My Back Door.
